At the April 2012 General Meeting we picked our 2012 Legionnaire Members’ Scholarship recipient.  This year’s award of $500 goes to Leonard Warner, Grandson of Len Warner.  All Legionnaires in good standing at Post 1066 are eligible to submit applications for their child or grand child. (The student must be a senior in High School and planning to attend college in the fall.)  Congratulations to Leonard!  Watch for 2013 application submission dates.

As reported at the last meeting we also selected the winners of the 2012 scholarship awards for Massapequa High School and Plainedge High School.  The Massapequa High School recipient is Mackenzie Green.  The Plainedge High School recipient is Jennifer Carnovale. We wish them well in their future endeavors.  (High School seniors at both Massapequa High School and Plainedge High Schools are eligible to compete for these scholarships.  Interested seniors should contact their Guidance Counselors for eligibility requirements.)
